Bulgarian football goalkeeper Georgi Yordanov Naydenov joined Lokomotiv Plovdiv when he was 17-years-old, playing there from 1953 to 1955, before joining Dinamo Plovdiv. In 1958 Naydenov signed for Botev Plovdiv, remaining with the club for the next 10 seasons, and winning the league title in 1967 and the Bulgarian Cup in 1962. He also earned seven caps with the Bulgarian national team, including playing in the football tournament at the 1960 Roma Olympics. After his playing career Naydenov worked as a coach at Botev Plovdiv from 1972 to 1974.
