Biography

Daniel Horlaville was a football midfielder who competed for France at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. He was the only post-World War II amateur player to be capped for France, playing for US Quevilly from 1963-71. He later played professionally from 1971-85, with Paris Saint-Germain in 1971-72, Paris FC in 1972-74, FC Rouen in 1974-78, and finishing out his career with CA Oissel in 1978-85. Horlaville helped France win gold at the 1967 Mediterranean Games. His son, Christophe Horlaville, later became a professional footballer who had a 13-year career with Oissel, Rouen, Cannes, Guingamp, Le Havre, Port Vale (England), Metz, and Caen.
