Biography

French footballer Jean Lempereur spent his career with AS Aulnoye-Aymeries as a player, coach, and a trainer. In the late 1960s Lempereur was called up to the French national, team where he was part of the squad that won gold at the 1967 Mediterranean Games in Tunis. He then competed in the qualification campaign for the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, playing in matches against Finland and Austria. At the Games he played in the group matches against Guinea and Mexico, and in their quarter-final defeat to Japan. In recognition of his contributions to the sport Lempereur was honoured in his hometown when a gym was named after him.
