Biography

Cecil Blackbeard competed in doubles at the 1920 Olympics, making the quarter-finals alongside George Dodd. Blackbeard also played at Wimbledon in 1920 in all three events, making the quarter-finals of singles and doubles. In May 1920 he had been runner-up in doubles at the World Hard Court Championships. Blackbeard was runner-up in singles at the 1926 South African Championships, and was South African doubles champion in 1923 and 1926.
