Biography

Giorgio Ferrini played 566 matches in Serie A from 1959-75, competing mostly for FC Torino. He helped them win the Coppa Italia in 1968 and 1971. Ferrini played at the 1960 Roma Olympics, the 1962 FIFA World Cup in Chile, and the 1968 European Championships, where Italy won the final against Yugoslavia, although Ferrini did not play in the final match. He later became a coach and was an assistant coach for FC Torino in 1976, helping them win their first Serie A title in 26 years. But that year he sustained two strokes, and died at only 37-years-old.
