Biography

Götrik Frykman played as a midfielder for Stockholm’s Djurgårdens IF from 1906-17. With their team he won the Swedish cup championship in 1912 and 1915. He won a total of six caps between 1911 and 1916. Frykman scored one goal in international games and captained the national teams twice including his last match as an international in 1916. He was included in Sweden’s team for the Olympic tournament in Stockholm and played in the 1-0 loss against Italy in the consolation round.

Frykman was also one of the country’s best bandy players winning the Swedish championship with Djurgårdens IF in 1908 and 1912. With this team he was also a championship finalist in 1909, 1911, and 1914. Later he became a member of the board of his club and of the selection committee for the national football team. He worked as a merchant.
