Biography

Diana Gee grew up playing table tennis alongside her twin sister, Lisa. Diana eventually made the 1988 and 1992 US Olympic team. She played at four Pan American Games (1983, 1987, 1991, 1995), winning nine medals, including five gold medals. Her gold medals were in 1983 doubles and team, 1987 team, and 1991 mixed doubles and team. She added three silvers and one bronze medal. Gee won gold medals at US Olympic Festivals in 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1991. She attended Southern Methodist University, studying business, but also won NCAA titles in 1990 and 1993.

Diana Gee later married Dan McDonnell and they initially settled in Pennsylvania. Gee-McDonnell used her business training to work as National Program Manager for AT&T Wireless. They later relocated to near Raleigh, North Carolina where she has served as a project specialist and vice-president for American Tower, a real estate company. Gee-McDonnell has coached for USA Table Tennis, beginning in 2005.
