Biography

Joe-Max Moore was a soccer (football) forward who played in college at UCLA. He played three years at UCLA, helping them win the NCAA title as a freshman, and was named All-America as both a sophomore and junior. Moore played internationally for the USA at the 1992 Olympics, and the 1994, 1998, and 2002 FIFA World Cups. He earned 100 international caps, in which he scored 24 goals.

In 1994 Moore left college to play professionally in Europe, first with 1. FC Saarbrücken for one year, and then spent a year with 1. FC Nuremberg, both in Germany. Moore returned to the USA to play in MLS (Major League Soccer) with the New England Revolution from 1996-99, but was then called back to Europe to play with Everton in the English Premier League from 1999-2002. Moore finished his soccer career with two years back with the Revolution.

Moore retired from playing in 2005, after several knee injuries and surgeries. Moore was inducted into the Oklahoma Soccer Hall of Fame in 2006 and the US Soccer Hall of Fame in 2013.
