Biography

Polish-born Magdalena Brzeska was a member of the German rhythmic gymnastics team at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics that finished eighth out of nine. This event was held for the first time at the Olympics and consisted of the use of a ball and club in the qualifying round, and the hoop and ball in the final. Brzeska was affiliated with TSV Schmiden at Fellbach.

Brzeska could not compete at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics because she had not received her German citizenship. She went on to win 26 national titles. After her competitive career, she appeared on German TV shows like “Holiday on Ice”, and reality shows. Brzeska also briefly worked as a gymnastics coach. In 2011 she posed naked in the German edition of Playboy. She was married to the German footballer Peter Peschel, and also to a Polish entrepreneur, but both marriages ended in divorce.
