Italian sportswoman Pina Cipriotto began her career in track and field athletics where she specialised as a sprinter and hurdler. At the 1928 Italian championships Cipriotto won gold in the 4 x 75 metres relay with Derna Polazzo, Ersilia Martini, and Tina Steiner, along with an individual bronze in the 83 metres hurdles. The following year she won another bronze in the hurdles before winning gold in 1933 in the 4 x 100 metres relay. In 1936 Cipriotto was selected to compete in gymnastics at the 1936 Berlin Olympics where she finished seventh with the Italian team in the all-round competition.
