Biography

Ralph Kern was a member of the West German male gymnastics team that finished a disappointing 12th at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He finished 67th individually, and failed to reach any apparatus final.

Kern became a graduated surgeon and one of two team doctors at the German football (soccer) club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. He also owned a practice for orthopedics and trauma surgery in Heidelberg. Kern was an honorary member of the Anti-Doping Commission of the German Gymnastics Federation (DTB). He has been working in football since 2015 and initially looked after the under-23 team.
