Conrad Christensen

Conrad Christensen won an Olympic bronze medal with the Norwegian team in gymnastics in the all-around Swedish system team event at the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm. But he was better known as a boxer after he had been acquainted with boxing during a stay in the United States. Soon after returning to Norway, he initiated a boxing group with IF Ørnulf. He won the title in the featherweight division at the 1909 and 1915 Norwegian Championships.

Christensen was an excellent wrestler and won a Norwegian Championship title in the featherweight division in 1910. He also worked also as a boxing coach in IF Ørnulf and later for BK Pugilist, which he co-founded in 1929. Christensen served as a referee in amateur and professional bouts and received the Medal of Merit of the Norwegian Boxing Federation for promoting the sport.

He worked as a printer. With his wife Ragna he had a daughter and a son who later became a successful amateur and professional boxer under the name Edgar Norman.
