Biography

Zoltán Balogh took up gymnastics in his youth at the School Sports Club in Oradea. He attended university where he studied biology and later earned a teaching degree, during which time he continued to compete in gymnastics for a club in Club-Napoca. He was a member of the 1952 Romanian men’s Olympic gymnastics team, finishing 170th in the indiviudual standings and seventh among his eight teammates.

In 1955, he was the national horse vault champion and won multiple other medals in various domestic competitions. Balogh later worked as a teacher at the Primary School No. 7 in Oradea until his retirement in 1992.
