Biography

Emil Schwegler competed in three events at the 1904 St. Louis Olympics. He competed in the individual all-around (42nd); the individual all-around, apparatus work (21st); and the individual all-around, field sports (=95th). Schwegler represented the St. Louis Schweitzer Turnverein. He was born in Switzerland, but naturalized as a US citizen with his parents. Schwegler attended the Central College of Osteopathy in Kansas City, Missouri, and later worked as an osteopathic physician. He was active in bowling administration in Wisconsin, serving as president of several local bowling associations, then was President of the Wisconsin Bowling Association, and made an honorary director of that organization.
