Biography

Joe Fitzgerald played quarterback for four years at Ithaca College, leading them to the 1991 D-3 NCAA Championship. He grew up playing handball with the Garden City club team on Long Island and played at the 1996 Olympics alongside his brother, Tom.

Joe Fitzgerald lived in the Atlanta area from 1994-2000 and while there, found a calling to the priesthood. In August 2001 he entered Immaculate Conception Seminary in Douglaston, New York, and was ordained as a priest in June 2007. He later became vocations director for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York. He continued to stay active in athletics, running in and finishing the New York City Marathon several times.
