Biography

Edward Adams contested the ABA bantamweight title in 1906, and lost to the ultimate winner Tom Ringer. After a successful year in 1907, which included winning the ABA title, he was expected to do well at the 1908 Championships, but was beaten in the first round by Columbia ABC team-mate Alf Shipp. Despite this setback, Adams gained selection for the Olympic Games later in the year, in the featherweight division, but lost on a decision to Charley Morris, the eventual silver medallist.
