Biography

West German modern pentathlete Achim Bellmann finished sixth in the team event at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and individually, was placed 14th. In 1985 he moved to fencing and became national épée champion and épée team World Champion. Bellmann was briefly married to Olympic fencer Christiane Weber. Their son Lukas also became a fencer.
