Biography

Japanese modern pentathlete Yoshihide Fukutome competed at his home Olympics in Tokyo in 1964. Fukutome had good results in shooting (5th), running (7th), and equestrian (10th), but poor results in swimming and fencing dropped him down to 17th place at the end of the five events. His individual results helped the Japanese team to finish in eighth place overall.
