Biography

Jeff Reeves rowed during his time at Chelsea Polytechnic before going to the University of London where he studied mathematics. As a member of the Wallingford Rowing Club, Reeves won the club’s single sculls title in 1956.

During his time at University, Reeves teamed up with Stewart Farquharson and, along with cox Ken Lester, took part in the pairs at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Unfortunately, they were eliminated after finishing third in their repêchage heat. The previous year, Reeves was in the University eight that lost to Harvard, USA, in the final of the 1959 Thames Challenge Cup at Henley.

Reeves wrote the first of two iBooks in 2020 entitled Magic Surface, described as: “a personal History with Boats on Rivers and Lakes and Sea”. Two years later he published Roma Coxed Pair about the University of London Olympians.
