German rower Armin Weyrauch was on the coxless fours squad at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, when Slovenia took bronze by edging out the Germans in a photo finish by a margin of 0.15 seconds. He won two gold medals at World Championships, in 1990 with the eights, and the following year with the coxed fours. Weyrauch later founded a fitness studio at Wismar and owned a sports park.
