Biography

Mariano Gottifredi was an Italian coxswain who represented Canottieri Falck in Dongo. Gottifredi helped the Italian crew win silver in the coxed fours at the 1963 Mediterranean Games in Napoli. At the 1968 Mexico City Olympics he narrowly missed out on a medal when the coxed fours boat finished fourth, just half-a-second behind the Swiss team. In 1972 Gottifredi was named as the cox for the eight at the München Olympics but the team were eliminated in the round one repêchage.
