Wilhelm Brandes was the coxswain of the Göteborgs RF’s inriggers coxed four at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. The boat did not reach the second round after losing to the eventual gold medallists from Denmark.
Brandes was a German-born engineer, who worked for the consulting company Friländer & Brandes. He remained unmarried and spent the rest of his life in Sweden.
