Biography

Russian rower Boris Dubrovsky had a successful partnership with Oleg Tyurin in the double sculls. At the 1962 World Rowing Championships Dubrovsky and Tyurin won silver in Lucerne, Switzerland, finishing just behind the French pair of René Duhamel and Bernard Monnereau. At the European Rowing Championships the Russian duo won bronze in 1963, gold in 1964, and silver in 1965.

Dubrovsky and Tyurin had their best result when they won gold at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, finishing almost three seconds ahead of the American crew of Sy Cromwell and Jim Storm. In the same year as his Olympic win Dubrovsky was awarded with the Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR.
