Biography

Shannon Day rowed at the University of Wisconsin, graduating in 1994, where she was selected as an NCAA Scholar-Athlete in 1993 and 1994. She started in college at UC Santa Barbara, where she learned to row, but transferred to Wisconsin.

After finishing her rowing career Day became a coach, starting at Union College from 1996-98. She was then an assistant coach and program coordinator at Duke University, as Shannon Daley, when that school started its rowing program, serving from 1998-2003. While at Union College, Day-Daley earned an MBA there. In 2003 Daley became assistant coach at the University of Tennessee, staying there for three years before moving to Colorado to be closer to her family.
