Biography

Aldo Bentini was an Italian boxer whose brightest amateur moment was his participation, at age 20, in the 1968 Mexico Olympics as a light-middleweight. He had a solid win in the first round against Argentine Víctor Galíndez, a future professional light-heavyweight champion, but then lost to Ion Covaci in the second round.

Bentini turned professional in 1970 and started out with 15 of 16 wins. On 8 July 1972 he won the Italian super-welterweight championship against Alberto Torri. He lost that title on 28 April 1972 to Antonio Castellili, and struggled in his last few fights, finishing with a career professional record of 19 wins (1 by KO), 6 losses (3 by KO), and 3 draws.
