Dick Wahlstrom attended the University of Washington. He was the three-oar on their 1952 Olympic eight. He earned crew letters at Washington in 1952 and 1953. Wahlstrom married the former Carol Grzech in 1967. Later in life he practiced mountaineering, making several climbs of Mount Ranier.
