Biography

Mark Zembsch was a coxswain who attended college at U Cal Berkeley. In addition to his 1988 Seoul Olympic appearance, he competed for the US at the 1985-87 World Championships, and the 1986 Goodwill Games. Zembsch won bronze medals in the eight at the 1985 and 1986 Worlds, and a silver in the four at the 1986 Goodwill Games. He later earned a law degree from the University of San Francisco and then practiced in Berkeley, California, eventually becoming the Deputy City Attorney in 2002. He also coached at U Cal Berkeley for a time, starting as freshman coach, but becoming head varsity coach from 1989-96.
