Biography

Active during the 1960s and 1970s Switzerland’s Erwin Vogt won 11 medals at the World Shooting Championships and competed at three Olympic Games. Vogt won gold at the 1962 World Championships in the 300 metres free rifle kneeling event, adding to his haul of two silvers and three bronze medals from the same competition. He won two more silver medals in 1966 and three bronze medals at the 1974 championships. Vogt competed at the 1964 Tokyo, 1968 Mexico City, and the 1972 München Olympics, with his best result coming in the 300 metre free rifle, three positions at the Mexico City Games where he finished fifth.
