Biography

Martin Edmondson started shooting on his father’s farm in San Saba, Texas. He joined the US Army in 1963, was on the 24th Infantry Division rifle team, and was assigned to the US Army Marksmanship Unit from 1972-81. He competed in both rifle and running target events. Edmondson retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant and then became the US Running Target coach, holding that position for 12 years. He became Youth Development Manager at USA Shooting in 1999, finally retiring from shooting sport in 2005. As Youth Development Manager Edmondson made many initiatives to contribute to the growth of junior sport shooting. He also served on the National 4-H Shooting Sports Executive Committee.
