Biography

By 1960, Gunnery Sergeant Jim Hill was a well-known shooter in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had earned the distinguished marksman badge in 1956 and won the National Service Rifle Championship in that year. In 1957 he won the Pershing Trophy at the NRA Championships, given for the high individual in the free rifle team match.
