Manuel Guerra swam for Spain at the 1948 London Olympics. Primarily a freestyle sprinter, although he also swam breaststroke, he was the first Spaniard to better one minute for the 100 freestyle. Guerra later won a bronze medal in the 4x200 free relay at the 1955 Mediterranean Games. Guerra won his first Spanish title at age 14, and repeated that 29 more times.
