Biography

Tyyne Järvi was a Finnish swimmer who represented Vaasan Uimaseura. At the 1911 Finnish championships in aquatics Järvi won the 100 metres freestyle event in a time of 1:43.2. Järvi was the first female competitor to represent Finland at the Olympics when she competed in the 100 metres freestyle event at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. She finished in fifth place in her heat and did not progress to the next round.
