Biography

Heidi Eisenschmidt competed at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome in the 100m butterfly but was eliminated in the heats. She won two East German national titles in the 4x100m butterfly and the 4x100m backstroke relay in 1958, and one more in the 4x100m backstroke relay in 1959. Her daughter Kathrin Zimmermann competed in swimming at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, winning a silver medal.
