Biography

East German swimmer Sabine Kahle was a specialist for long-distance freestyle and medley events, mostly in the 400 metres. At the 1976 Montréal Olympics she reached the finals in both events and finished eighth in the 400 freestyle and fifth in the 400 individual medley. At the 1977 Jönköping Europeans she won silver medals in both the 200 and the 400 individual medley. Kahle never won an East German national title.
