Biography

East German swimmer Jörg Walter participated in four events at the 1980 Moskva Summer Olympics. He was disqualified in the heats of the 400 metres individual medley, was eliminated in the heats of the 100 metres backstroke, and finished eighth in the 200 back. With the 4x100 medley relay he finished an unfortunate fourth.

Walter later studied medicine and owned a practice for cardiological angiological diagnostics at his hometown Mühlhausen. He was also engaged in regional politics.
