Biography

German breaststroke swimmer Daniela Brendel won the silver medal with the 4x100 IM relay team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, although she only swam in the heats. She also started in the 100 metres and the 200 metres individual events where she finished eighth and tenth respectively. In 1990, she was the last national champion in the former GDR in both events. In 1992, she won the 200 metres title in re-unified Germany.
