Biography

Regina Nissen was a freestyle swimmer who was eliminated in the heats of both the 100 and 200 metres at the 1976 Montréal Olympic Games. She finished eighth and last in the final of the 4x100 freestyle relay with the West German squad. Nissen never won a West German national title despite being regarded as one of the most impressive talents of her time.

Shortly after the Montréal Games, Nissen retired, and finished her high-school diploma. She then married an Israeli, and emigrated to Israel. Having accepted Jewish beliefs, she took the Jewish name Sara Malka Rimon. Her husband owned a desert oasis, and they raised eleven children.
