Biography
Köln (Cologne) based diver Heinz Freyschmidt was eliminated in the semifinals of the springboard and platform at the 1908 London Olympics. He competed for the Sportverein Rhenus Köln. Freyschmidt became a sports teacher and later coached some local clubs. He also wrote a textbook Der Leibeserzieher und seine Verbindung zum außerschulischen Sportleben (The physical educator and its connection to the extracurricular sports life).
