Biography

German-born diver Arthur Mund was the father of Günther and Lilo Mund. He married Margret Borgs and both participated in the 1928 Olympics and during World War II they emigrated to Chile. In Amsterdam, Arthur Mund placed fifth in the springboard. In 1926 he won both the European and the German titles in this event. He had been the German champion 1922-23 and in 1925 he was also the German champion in the combination of springboard and platform. The family often returned to Germany as Günther was a member in two swimming clubs at Köln (Cologne) and Düsseldorf.
