Biography

German swimmer Oskar Schiele from Magdeburg won a silver medal at the 1906 Athina Olympics with the 4x250 metres freestyle relay. He also came in seventh in the one mile freestyle. Schiele returned to the 1912 Olympics at Stockholm. He then finished fourth with the 4x200 freestyle relay and was eliminated in the heats of the 400 freestyle and 100 backstroke. From 1905-13 Schiele won the English King Price five times, a renowned price in European swimming in that era. Schiele won more than 700 palmares during his career.
