Biography

Géza Kiss competed for MUE beween 1896-1904 and, after the Olympics, he moved to MTK Budapest. He competed at the 1904 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver and a bronze medal. He took part in the 1906 Olympics where he won a gold medal as a member of the 4×250 metre relay. He was nominated for the 1908 Olympics, but did not compete. Kiss finished his active sporting carrier in 1908.

He also had several articles on swimming and training techniques, as editor of the “Nemzeti Sport” and as a sport journalist of the “Pesti Hírlap” and “Magyarság” newspapers. He is considered to be the first expert on swimming in Hungarian sports journalism. From 1912 until 1918, he served as the secretary-general of the Hungarian Swimming Federation on two occasions. In 1920 and 1926-1928 he was the executive vice president of this body.
