Biography

Arlette Faidiga was an Italian swimmer who specialised in the backstroke. Faidiga started her career with a second-place finish at the 1955 Junior Championships in Bologna before setting a national record in the 100 metres backstroke in 1957. With this performance Faidiga was selected to compete at the European Aquatics Championships in 1958 but failed to reach the final of the event.

From 1956 to 1959 Faidiga swam the backstroke leg of multiple 4 x100 freestyle and 4 x 100 medley relays, setting national records in both events in 1957. In 1960 Faidiga swam in the 100 metres backstroke at her home Olympics in Roma where she finished sixth in her heat and 23rd overall.
