Biography

Jack Cayco swam for the Philippines at the 1948 London Olympics. A breaststroker, he won the 200 breaststroke at the 1951 Asian Games in New Delhi, adding a gold at that tournament in the medley relay. Cayco later captained the Filipino swim team at the 1954 Asian Games in Manila, winning a silver medal in the medley relay. His brother, Pedro Cayco, swam at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

Cayco attended school at the University of Santo Tomas. After his swimming career, he became a swimming referee and stroke judge, working at national and international events, such as the 1981 Southeast Asian Games. Cayco was inducted into the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
