Tito Pereyra took up boxing at the Biblioteca y Club San Martín in Córdoba, Argentina, and was soon selected to represent the national team. In 1968 Pereyra fought in the flyweight class at the Mexico City Olympics, where he defeated Robert Carney (AUS) before losing to Tetsuaki Nakamura (JPN). He then turned professional in the early 1970s, winning his first fight. His wins, however, were few and far between, with Pereyra only winning four of his 22 fights as a pro. Away from the ring he had a lengthy career as a municipal employee.
