Biography

Axel Runström competed in diving at the 1908 and 1912 Olympic Games, reaching the final only in plain high diving at Stockholm in 1912, where he finished sixth. He achieved greater success in water polo, winning a bronze medal with the Swedish team at the 1908 London Olympics. At home, Runström won the Swedish championships in plain high diving in 1909-11 and in water polo 1906-08.

Runström worked as a typographer for a newspaper. He was married to Johanna Engström, with whom he had one son.
