Biography

Eskil Wedholm from Eskilstuna competed in the 1912 Stockholm Olympics in the two longer freestyle events, the 400 and 1,500 metres. Placing third in his heats, he did not advance in either event. A few years later, however, he won two editions (1916-17) of one of Sweden’s most popular long-distance swimming competitions, the Elbasimmet in Västerås crossing the Mälarfjärden.
