Biography

The daughter of four-time Olympic diving champion, Pat McCormick, Kelly McCormick was definitely to the diving manor born. Except for her very early years, she was strictly a springboard diver. McCormick competed at two Olympics in 3-metre springboard, winning silver in 1984 and bronze in 1988. Internationally she was the 1983 and 1987 Pan American Games springboard gold medalist, and won the 1984 McDonald’s Diving Invitational, placing second in 1985. She was an 11-time US Champion, winning four titles on 1-metre, and seven on 3-metre springboard. McCormick retired after the 1990 Goodwill Games and later coached at the same facility, the King County Aquatic Center near Seattle.
