Biography

In addition to her Olympic bronze medal, Christina Seufert won a silver medal on springboard at the 1982 World Championships in Guayaquil. Seufert dove for the University of Michigan and was inducted into their Hall of Honor in 2007. She was US Champion on springboard in 1980 and 1983. Leading up to the Los Angeles Olympics she won silver medals in 1984 at the McDonald’s Invitational and Australian Open and a bronze medal at the New Zealand International. Seufert also won the springboard at the 1979 National Sports Festival and was third on platform at the 1981 and 1982 US Championships. She also made the ill-fated 1980 US Olympic team. Seufert became a well-respected international diving judge, including judging at the 2012 Olympics.
