Biography

West German archer Detlef Kahlert finished 15th at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics in the individual event. Four years later at Seoul, he finished 12th, and a disappointing 18th with the team. In 1987, he won a gold medal with the recurve team at the World Championships, and in 1995 won the German Indoor Championships. By profession, Kahlert was a civil servant at the Federal Border Guard.
