Biography

Annette Schultz was on the 1980 East German women’s volleyball team at the Moskva Olympics. The team won the silver medal, losing twice against the Soviet Union, in the preliminary round and the final, both times by 3-1 in set scores. She won European Championship silver medals in 1977 and 1979.

Nationally, Schultz played with TSC Berlin and, after the fall of the Berlin border, with VC 68 Eichwalde. She later coached senior national teams and won a silver medal at the 2007 Over-50-World Championships. She also became vice-president of the Berlin Brandenburg Sport Club. By profession, she owned a textile shop.
